The Real Madrid Foundationin collaboration with the 8 Valores Foundation and the Fraternidad Foundation, both financiers of the project, has inaugurated a socio-sports school in the Manrique neighborhood, Commune 3 of Medellín. This new project is intended to serve 200 boys, girls and young people between 5 and 17 years old who are in vulnerable situations.

The inauguration was an emotional event in which the beneficiaries received their new kits and gathered on the soccer field where they will do their training. During the ceremony, it was explained that This school will not only focus on sports, but also on the promotion of healthy lifestyle habitsgender equity, the development of strategies for conflict resolution and the prevention of school dropouts.

The Los 8 Valores Foundation collaborates in this project with the Fraternidad de Medellín Foundation and has the support of companies such as Codiscos and Tronex. Federico Hoyos, director of the Los 8 Valores Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the agreement with the Real Madrid Foundation, highlighting the importance of promoting values ​​at an international level through sport. “Very happy to sign this agreement with the Real Madrid Foundation, one of the most important in promoting values ​​at an international level, which with socio-sports schools, through basketball and football, train children from neighborhoods in remote areas in values ​​and with sport,” Hoyos said.

Since 2008, The Real Madrid Foundation has developed socio-sports and educational projects in Colombia, directly benefiting more than 60,000 children over 16 years. The Medellín socio-sports school joins other similar initiatives carried out with entities such as the Concívica Foundation and the Religiosos Camilos.

Federico Hoyos added that this socio-sports school represents a milestone in Medellín and Antioquia, since it is the first of its kind in the region with the collaboration of the Fraternidad Foundation, which co-finances the project. “This project will change the lives of many children in the Manrique neighborhood and it will train them in values ​​through football,” said Hoyos.

The priority, according to Hoyos, is to consolidate this project before expanding it to other parts of the department or the country. “We want to consolidate the project before thinking about growing in other parts of the department or the country.” In addition, he assured that the children will have high-quality coaches and their own training methodology, guaranteeing that they will have fun, play sports and strengthen their values.

This socio-sports school not only seeks to develop sports skills, but also to train individuals with solid values ​​and a strong sense of community, offering the youth of Manrique an opportunity for a better future.
