148 kilometers, between the towns of Ambrí and Carí, was the route of the fifth stage of the Tour de Suisse this Thursday, June 13. During the fraction, three mountain prizes were won, two first category and one second category.
During the auction of the fraction, the Colombian Egan Bernal was one of the stars of the day due to his outstanding participation in the last kilometerswhere he was alongside Joao Almeida and Adam Yates, competing for the stage victory.
In addition to Egan, Sergio Higuita also had an outstanding day, managing to arrive in eighth position of the stage 1:03 behind the winner. Likewise, Einer Rubio was integrating the breakaway and was among the first positions in the intermediate sprints contested throughout the route, even obtaining victory in one of them during the last 20 kilometers.

This is how Egan Bernal did in the fifth stage of the Tour of Switzerland
Egan Bernal shone with his own light in the fifth stage of the Tour de Suisse. The Colombian rider finished in third placebeating the big favorites of the race, so he was able to close the gap on his closest rivals.
Adam Yates managed to maintain the lead in the general classification, and also won the stage with a time of 3 hours and 54 minutes, while his teammate, João Almeida finished in second position, just 5 seconds behind.
Next, Bernal entered 16 seconds behind the leader, managing to gain 4 more seconds in the general classification. With this result, the one born in Zipaquirá rose to third place and could aspire to a better place in the next stages.
For its part, Sergio Higuita managed to climb to tenth place of the general classification and is now 3:01 behind the leader.
The Tour of Switzerland will continue this June 14 with the sixth stage, which will have a route of 151 kilometers between the towns of Locarno and Blatten.
