BALTIMORE — Reynaldo López matched his season high with eight strikeouts while covering six scoreless innings, Ozzie Albies had four hits and the Atlanta Braves beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-3 on Thursday.

Dominican Marcell Ozuna’s two-run double in the first inning against Baltimore left-hander Cole Irvin (6-3) sparked the Braves’ attack by ending a five-game losing streak. The Orioles had a six-game streak snapped.

Atlanta extended the lead with runs in the fourth and sixth innings, and added two more in the ninth. They finished with 12 hits, their most since June 1.

López (4-2) had his best start of the season. He allowed two singles and retired 154 batters in a row during one stretch.

Puerto Rican Joe Jiménez scored zero in the eighth against the core of Baltimore’s offense. Cuban Raisel Iglesias recorded his 17th save after opening the ninth allowing the first batter to reach base.

For the Braves, Ozuna is 4-2. Venezuelan Orlando Arcia 4-1, one RBI.

For the Orioles, Venezuelan Anthony Santander 0-4.
