Stage 6 of the Tour of Switzerland: Ulrichen

The 87th edition of the Tour de Suisse, with the British cyclist Adam Yates (UAE Emirates) at the head of the general classification, faces today, Friday, what was to be its queen stage, a sixth day initially planned for 151.1 kilometers between the Swiss towns from Locarno and Blatten, with the feared Nufenen Pass (Nufenenpass), of special category at its equator.

It will not be like this, since the organizers, despite all their efforts, have been forced to shorten the stage and avoid the Nufenen Pass due to the snow and always seeking to preserve the safety of the cyclists.

The sixth stage has been ‘decaffeinated’ and with a short 42.5 kilometer route that will start at the Goms Nordic Center in Ulrichen and conclude, as planned, in Blatten, a 6 kilometer climb with an average slope of 9 percent. .

Adam Yates arrives at the sixth stage dressed in yellow and with a lead of 35 seconds over the rival who worries him the least, his teammate Joao Almeida. Third in the general classification, 1 minute and 11 seconds behind, is the Colombian Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers). And already 1 minute and 49 seconds away is the Spaniard Enric Mas (Movistar).

The start of the stage is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. (CEST) and the arrival of the first cyclists in Blatten should occur around 4:00 p.m.
