It had been a while since Phillip Butters had railed against the Chilean team, but with Ricardo Gareca giving orders from the substitutes’ bench, it was something that seemed imminent. The controversial Peruvian journalist, in this past warmed up the preview of the match that La Roja and those from Rímac will star in exactly one week, protesting the “mistreatment” to which the “Tigre” would be subjected on national soil.
“Do you know or not that Gareca wants to leave Chile?” the communicator released as a scoop, “here they treated him well, they fed him delicious food, In Chile the food is horrible, Chileans are unfriendly”.
Later, he highlighted Rodrigo Ureña, a midfielder who currently works at Universitario de Lima, as “the only good Chilean,” and assured that The Argentine coach “does not have a single official match and they already want him to change, I have already read somewhere that Gareca is suddenly leaving Chile”.
But his story did not end there, no: Butters stressed that “the other Chileans do not greet Gareca, they do not love Gareca”, instead “Here everyone loved Gareca because the Peruvian is kind”. “The Chilean tells you ‘give me results, don’t invent me, you flowering Argentinian.’”
“They want to throw Gareca away! And here there are several who miss Gareca and his flower,” she closed, of course, without any proof of what she was talking about.
Anyway, there will surely be more of this as the clash between La Roja and the Peruvian team gets closer. That match is set for next Friday, June 21, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and will mean the debut of both teams in the Copa América.
