The Atlético Nacional footballer, Edwin Cardona, was the victim of an attempted robbery in the municipality of San Jerónimo, Antioquia, events that occurred while he was traveling in his vehicle with his family during the night of this Saturday, June 15.
The Medellín Police were in charge of notifying the attack on the recent signing of the Purslane team, who assured that, since they could not steal their belongings, they shot at the car where he, his wife and children were.

After this delicate issue of insecurity that the steering wheel experienced, his wife Carolina Castaño shared a video on her Instagram, telling details of what happened to them and assured that everyone is fine, but the strong moment generated panic.
“Through this video we want to thank you for the expressions of affection and concern regarding what happened. As a family, we were victims of an attack whose purpose is still being investigated. The truth is that it is a regrettable and very sad fact for us as a family, especially to have to experience these types of situations with our children,” said Carolina Castaño.
Likewise, in the same video Edwin Cardona gave his opinion and felt sorry for the issue of insecurity that is everywhere in the country, a situation that has not been foreign to athletes, who have constantly been victims of criminals.
“I want to thank all the police, the truth was made available. Something hard for this to happen in our country, but hey, thank God we are fine. I send a big hug to all of you, thank you for those good messages, may God bless you and let’s move forward,” said Cardona.
For now, the midfielder continues to prepare for what will be the second semester with Atlético Nacional and is waiting to see how the investigation into those responsible for this criminal act progresses.
