After three days of hospitalization, Lorenzo Somaschinihe nine-year-old motorcycle racer who suffered a serious accident during one of the training sessions at the Brazilian Interlagos racetrack, in São Paulo, he died this Monday at the Albert Einstein Israeli Hospital.

The news was confirmed through a statement from SuperBike Brasil, where they stated that the death occurred at 7:43 p.m. “The Argentine, born in Rosario, was admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital, in San Pablo, under intensive medical care, but unfortunately he did not survive,” they wrote.

Meanwhile, they noted that “the organization has provided full assistance to the rider’s family since Friday (6/14), when the Argentine had a fall during the first free practice of the Jr Cup, valid for the 4th stage of SuperBikes Brazil. at the Interlagos Autodromo. As soon as he fell at the exit of Pinheirinho, “The pilot was immediately treated at the scene by the medical team in an ICU ambulance.”

“Later, it was sent to circuit emergency room, where his clinical board was stabilized. After this procedure, the medical transfer was carried out in an advanced support unit (mobile ICU) to the Pedreira General Hospital, where he remained until dawn on Saturday (6/15), following all medical protocols until the transfer to Albert Einstein Hospital.”

The little boy was participating in one of the largest motorcycle championships on the continent and had debuted in official local competitions months ago. The Honda Junior Cup category, in which he participated, brings together pilots between 8 and 16 years old. The motorcycles used are 160 cc adapted and prepared for competition, with pedals and handlebars adapted to the size of each child.

“Everyone on the SuperBike Brazil team is dismayed by the event and expresses their sincere condolences to all of Lorenzo’s family and friends,” closes the text spread on social networks.

For his part, his coach, Diego Pierlugi, wrote: “With my heart broken and my soul thrown away I have to say goodbye to you. I’m going to miss you a lot Lolito. Thank you for letting me be part of your dream. Rest in peace, champion.”

On the same day of the tragic episode, the boy had shared a publication of his stay in the neighboring country. “Fulfilling dreams… First training session at Interlago Brazil preparing for the JuniorCup,” he said along with three photos of himself.
