The Germany-Scotland (5-1), which was the premiere of the Euro Cup, left great football moments and many intrastories behind. One of them featured the Germany striker, Niclas Füllkrug. As reported Bildthe Borussia Dortmund striker was involved in a curious incident with a seething fan of the Mannschaft.
Füllkrug was practicing shots on goal during the build-up to Germany-Scotland and one of those shots accidentally hit a fan sitting in the stands. A member of the German national team fan club, Kai Flathmann, who broke his hand after being hit by the ball thrown by Füllkrug during the warm-up. The fan was sitting in the front row, next to a goal at the Allianz Arena, with such bad luck that the strong impact seriously damaged his left hand.
The sore fan recounts in BILD What was that moment like and his subsequent actions: “I sang the anthem on the stretcher. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, unfortunately I had to give up my dream of attending the opening game. But when Fülle breaks your hand…?” The 43-year-old fan posted what happened on Instagram and removed responsibilities from the national team forward: “The DFB also contacted me. I’m left speechless, it was crazy. Thank you to everyone who wrote to me to get well soon, no matter how things went!”
Füllkrug was also very sorry for the incident and will contact the German fan to present its most sincere apologies and send him a gift for the inconvenience caused.
