The winger of Junior de Barranquilla, Omar Albornoz, negotiates with the leaders the termination of his contract due to lack of minutes. Since his arrival in 2022, from Tolima, the player has scored five goals and three assists in 52 games played, with the majority of them entering from the substitutes’ bench.
In Deportes Tolima, it was where the player reached his best football level, completing 199 matches since his debut in 2014being fundamental in the campaigns where the team led at that time by Hernán Torres, won the 2019 title against Atlético Nacional.
In search of regaining his leading role on the field of play, Albornoz wants to take a new direction, whether in Colombian football or abroadconfirming the few options he had in Junior for two and a half years.
Albornoz’s team change imminent
After one of the meetings with the Junior directives to define their employment relationship, The player clarified his intentions for the future of his sports career. “We are making an arrangement to end my contract, The truth is I want to leave, I want to take a new direction”commented the player.
“I don’t want to continue because I won’t be taken into account, I won’t be given the opportunity. The player is measured if they give him opportunities, I lacked more opportunities”, he added, referring to his playing time in Junior.
In the midst of the negotiations and the different meetings with the club’s directors, Albornoz hopes to reach an agreement that benefits the parties involvedtaking into account that he does not yet have conversations with other teams.
