River and San Lorenzo have been in negotiations for the transfer of Adam Bareiro for a month. A pass that was closed twice, but on both occasions it went back a couple of boxes when only the signature was missing. This Friday was the last: When there was already a definitive agreement for the transfer of the Paraguayan striker after the meetings at the beginning of the week, CASLA changed the conditions again.
River had an agreement with Ciclón for a total of approximately US$ 4,500,000 gross (about 600 thousand more than the value of the clause of 3.5 M plus taxes) divided into the payment of a fee of 2.5 million dollars upon signing and another two million to be paid in objectives, sharing tax expenses. Well, that scheme changed for the management headed by Marcelo Moretti: Now San Lorenzo is asking for US$ 4.5 M net and without sharing taxes.
While Boedo announces that if it is not under these new terms the transfer will not be made and they will wait for offers from abroad, the position in Núñez is very different: the footballer himself has already been verbally attached for weeks, in the CARP they trust that the end of this story will always be the same, with Bareiro wearing the Band. And, in any case, the only thing left to do is figure out how.
In that sense, with conversations that took longer than expected and a SL board that already wanted to back out twice after having given the OK, the Monumental offices have the position of not moving from what was agreed and, ultimately, they no longer rule out resolving the transfer through AB’s termination clause, something that they initially did not want to do in order to preserve the good relationship between the clubs.
Meanwhile, Bareiro is waiting in the United States to sign a contract that has already been resolved for a while: the 27-year-old forward has already been convinced to play for River and in any case the only thing that could jeopardize his destiny in Núñez is if he suddenly to the player a proposal impossible to reject from Europe (he already ruled out a specific interest from AEK Athens last week).
