Don’t dream like James Rodríguez, Juan Guillermo Cuadrado or Juan Fernando Quintero. Fuad Char said once again that those kinds of names “are impossible” for Junior right now.

However, the rojiblanco shareholder did not rule out that another experienced player could arrive to reinforce the rojiblanco squad depending on the circumstances and opportunities offered by the transfer market.

“If there is a surprise, it is welcomed (laughs),” said Char Abdala in an interview with EL HERALDO after confirming the continuity of Déiber Caicedo, for whom the club will pay one and a half million dollars to the Vancouver Whitecaps.

“I don’t know, we’ll see, it all depends on whether favorable circumstances arise for the team,” he added about the possibility of adding another player to the roster.

Junior maintains the foundation that led them to the League title in December 2023 and that qualified them for the second round of the 2024 Copa Libertadores.

For the three competitions that are coming in the second half of the current year (Liga, Copa Libertadores and Copa Colombia), Junior has hired four new faces: Jhon Navia, Jhon Lerma, Yani Quintero and Andrés Colorado.

The players who left were Walter Pacheco, Yeferson Moreno, Brayan Ceballos, Diego Mendoza, Fabian Cantillo, Omar Albornoz, Johan Bocanegra and Vladimir Hernandez.

The League begins the weekend of July 18, while the Colombia Cup begins for the rojiblancos in the round of 16 on July 31 and August 8.

The Copa Libertadores series with Colo Colo will be settled after the start of local competitions. The first clash will take place at the Monumental stadium, in Santiago de Chile, on Tuesday, August 13, starting at 7:30 pm, Colombian time.

The return match will be held in Barranquilla a week later, on Tuesday, August 20, at the same time (7:30 pm).
