Juan Martin Trucco began 2024 competing on two fronts, with its presence in Road Tourism in command of the only Dodge Challenger among the new generation cars that burst into the category and also in TC PickUpwith a Volkswagen Amarok owned by Di Meglio Motor Sport.
After having participated in the first four dates of the Pick Up, the pilot from Tres Algarrobos told this Friday in Good morning Champions that made the decision to concentrate all its work on Road Tourism, which is why it will be dropped in the truck category from this weekend’s event. “We come with a lot of work in the workshop, focused 100 percent on the Challenger and with many consecutive races the economic part, the work times, is complicated, that’s why I decided to get out of the trucks”he acknowledged.
“Now that I’m off the trucks, I’m going to spend time with my family. I’ve already put the truck up for sale. Hopefully a buyer will show up and someone else will enjoy it. I’m going to be off the trucks for a while.”
ROAD TOURISM
After having worked hard on the aerodynamic part of the Challenger, Trucco managed to get into the first half of the TC pack and hopes to continue improving. “We have good expectations for Posadas. In Rafaela we knew that it was going to be a circuit that would cost us a lot. We did a test prior to the race and we drew very good conclusions from the aerodynamic part, later in Rafaela it was seen that we were more competitive. On circuits with a little less speed we should be even better and fight for the race”.
“We knew it was going to be a difficult year, but we didn’t think it would be so difficult. It cost us a lot and we hope that in the second part of the year we can continue to evolve and become competitive.
