Argentinian Franco Colapinto of MP Motorsports was already licking his chops in the Austrian Sprint Race. With just a few metres to go before crossing the finish line, he appeared in fifth place (he started in seventh position) and collected four more points for his personal championship tally. However, everything changed. After a dispute with his teammate Dennis Hauger he lost control of his vehicle and after a spin he fell to eleventh place, which left him empty-handed.

“I was skidding a lot, on the last lap I accelerated too much and it spun. My bad, we lost points, quite a few; but now it’s done. “We have to think about tomorrow.”the Argentine driver, still chewing on his anger, said in a conversation with ESPN. “At the end I didn’t have the rhythm, we didn’t have any tires. I’ll see what we can improve on,” he concluded. Tomorrow he will seek revenge, since he will start the main race from fourth place.

With this result, Colapinto was unable to add points and lost ground in the championship race, remaining stuck in seventh place with 56 points. Those who took advantage of this situation were his teammate, the Norwegian Dennis Hauger (who finished fifth) and the Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto (who finished fourth), who now have 60 points. The Indian Arjun Maini, on the other hand, came close to him after finishing seventh (he has 52). At the top of the table were the Estonian Paul Aron (107), the Frenchman Isack Hadjar (91), the Barbadian Zane Maloney (75) and the American Jak Crawford (65).
