Rabbit R1 Pocket Assistant – RABBIT

MADRID, May 1. (Portaltic/EP) –

The company responsible for the rabbit r1 pocket assistant has denied that this device is an Android application, claiming that both its operating system and the artificial intelligence (AI) model that powers it run in the cloud with a customized version of Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

An analysis by the specialized portal Android Authority pointed out that everything that Rabbit R1 offers “can be replicated by an Android app” and even questioned why these types of companies did not release an application instead of spending large amounts of money on hardware. . Added to this is that they managed to install the ‘software’ on a Pixel 6a.

rabbit r1 is a kind of simple, pocket-sized computer that provides a generative AI assistant powered by its own operating system and a large action model (LAM), designed to replace the smartphone in the day to day.

Among its functions, it allows, for example, listening to music through popular streaming services, booking a trip in mobility applications and ordering food from home delivery services. With your camera, you can take photographs but also search from images.

Precisely these are the functions that made Android Authority question the device. In response to this criticism, Rabbit founder and CEO Jesse Lyu has defended that rabbit r1 “is not an Android app.”

In the statement sent to the aforementioned media, it was indicated that both the operating system and LAM run in the cloud with a highly customized version of AOSP and with lower-level firmware modifications.

Likewise, he has warned of the existence of “emulators of unofficial Rabbit OS websites/applications”, which, in his opinion, respond to “the passion that people have” for testing their AI. But precisely because their product runs in the cloud, a locally pirated program “carries significant risks” and that is why they recommend avoiding these parallel creations.
