Deadly psychic baby: Goodnight Universe is new from the creators of Before Your Eyes

Have you ever dreamed of controlling a baby with psychic powers like Jean Gray from the X-men? Goodnight Universe more or less allows for that. We tell you more, in this note!

Before Your Eyes developer Nice Dream and publisher Skybound Entertainment announced the studio’s new game, Goodnight Universe. This is a kind of spiritual sequel to Before Your Eyes.

In Goodnight Universe you play a six-month-old baby named Isaac who has Jean Gray-style psychic powers. Isaac is nothing more than an adorable baby looking for the love of his family, but there is a secret technology company that wants to exploit his powers, because obviously, death to capitalism.

Goodnight Universe will also build on the eye-tracking mechanics of Before Your Eyes, but with a sci-fi twist. Actually, what it reminds us of most is Wandavision, where Scarlet Witch had her little psychic children who grew up in strange ways and each one had a power stranger than Green Dog.

“Both Skybound and Nice Dream are dedicated to bringing engaging stories to everyone and believe that interactive entertainment is a medium capable of conveying powerful stories that cannot be told in any other way,” wrote Ian Howe, managing partner of Skybound, in a press release. “Before Your Eyes is an excellent example of this, and Goodnight Universe is shaping up to be another video game that will break boundaries.”

Although the game does not yet have an announced platform or launch window, it will be present at the 2024 Tribeca Festival.
