This is because, according to the portal Wiredthe new algorithm implemented from the Meta platform will punish those who repost material from other usersthat is to say, something that those accounts frequently do.
More specifically, with this policy, Instagram will considerably reduce the reach of these “serial reposters”as they have called them, making them unable to appear in Recommended or Explore sections for a month.
That punishment will come when the social network detects that some of its content has been replicated at least 10 times in a period of 30 days.
However, those meme pages would be the ones who would pay for this move that, really, seeks to empower accounts that create original content and that they do not have many followers, since they would benefit from the reach obtained.
“Historically, the creators with the most followers and the accounts that share reposted content have been the ones with the most reach on the platform,” Meta said for this move.
