The Google Play Store has begun rolling out a label that identifies government apps in Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada, South Korea, the United States, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

It’s been an intense week for the Google Play Store, since the big G’s app and game store has not stopped receiving new features over the last few days and one of the most notable is that Google Play now allows you to download two Android applications at the same time.
But that’s not all, since we have just learned that the American giant’s application store is including in some countries, among which, unfortunately, Spain is not, some badges that will allow you to identify official government apps.
The Google Play Store launches government badges
As confirmed by 9to5Google, Google has begun to implement some new government badges so you can easily identify official government apps.
Unfortunately, these new badges from official state and federal government apps are currently only available on Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United Statesalthough it is expected that they will reach other regions of the world, including Spain, over the coming weeks.
Government badges have already arrived in the US Google Play Store
As you can see in the screenshots that we leave you above these lines, this new government insignia consists of an icon of a building and a title with the word “Government” and appears in the main Google Play app feed just to the right of the app’s score.
Besides, if you click on this badge You are shown the following explanatory text.
“Official Government – Play verified that this app is affiliated with a government entity.”
For example, in the case of the United States, some of the applications that are identified with This new badge is that of NASA, FEMA and the IRS2Go app.
The Mountain View company has confirmed that A total of 3,000 government applications have already received this badge and that many others will begin to receive it in the coming months.
