Kia has revealed its plans to transform the meaning of PBV, adopting it as ‘Platform beyond the vehicle’through an official presentation that was scheduled for CES 2024 in Las VegasUSA
During this event, the brand introduced its next PBV product line and commercial focus along with the physical exhibition of various conceptual models. Thus, the Kia proposal in the PBV area has been defined by the brand as a comprehensive mobility solution, fusing electric vehicles designed for specific purposes with advanced software solutions.
It should be noted that said presentation dated from Kia’s return to CES after five yearswhere the company has prepared a list of keynote speakers who will share details about the brand’s future business strategies in the PBV space, as well as its vision for the future.
Among the topics of conversation and presentation, dedicated hardware technologies stood out (Easy Swap and Dynamic Hybrid, both based on modularization), along with digital solutions developed under the Hyundai Motor Group banner.
Additionally, we explored the advanced software capabilities and they showed up concrete plans for the integration of global associations. During the event, visitors explored the PBV exhibit inside the LVCC West Hall, as well as an outdoor electric vehicle exhibit at the LVCC Central Plaza.
Five Kia concepts
At the Kia PBV displayfive conceptual models were presented, among which stood out the first PBV scheduled to begin mass production from 2025. The display also included a diverse range of PBV technologies exclusive to Kia.
Additionally, a presentation and demonstration dedicated to PBV was held, highlighting the company strategy in the creation of software-defined vehicles, as well as its plans for the integration of strategic partnerships in this exciting area of mobility.
The Kia electric vehicle showcase will offer a comprehensive overview of the brand’s vision of “EVs for everyone”, highlighting the EV3 and EV4 concepts, along with the EV9 and EV6 GT models. This showcase will highlight the benefits customers can experience when choosing from Kia’s growing and diverse lineup of electric vehicles.
