Without a doubt, the expectation that Huawei is raising in the market this year is very important, and the company could even launch a PC chip on par with what the Apple M2 offers. It will be an effort by the company to put the best possible performance in a small chip.
As we can see in GizmoChina, the supposed Kirin PC chip would use the Taishan v130 architecture which has an 8-core CPU configuration with a clock speed of 2.5 GHz.
In terms of pure performance, Kirin PC processor achieved a score of 11,640 points in Geekbench 6 multi-core tests with a consumption of 30W. This score puts it in a similar position to Apple’s M2 and Intel’s i7-13700H processor.
Finally, the leak tells us that Huawei’s next PC chip could support up to 32 GB of LPDDR5-6400 memory with a 128-bit configuration and could offer a bandwidth of 100 GB/s. It is also rumored to support up to 2TB of solid-state storage (SSD) and include three USB-4 ports.
Unfortunately, we don’t have an estimated date for this Huawei PC chip that could have similar performance to the Apple M2, but from the looks of it, a lot more information is about to be revealed.
