Rumors about a PlayStation 5 Pro eventually arriving at the end of the year continue to grow, and now they point to the GPU. And that is precisely where the difference lies with respect to the current model of the console.

The PlayStation 5 Pro GPU, improved

According to Digital Foundry, information has been discovered indicating that the PS5 Pro’s GPU will have a base clock speed of 2.18 GHz, with boost speeds of up to 2.35 GHz for maximum performance.

But that would not be all, since the L1 and L0 cache components would double in size to speed up demanding processes such as ray tracing. This would ensure better performance than what is currently present on the console.

Let us remember that, in addition, according to data from Sony’s developer portal, the PS5 Pro will have 30 work group processors (WGP), many more than the standard console. Specifically, we would be talking about more than 200% growth in teraflops.

Finally, there is talk that Sony will integrate DirectX 12 Ultimate technologies into the PS5 Pro GPU. All this for a console that is expected to be launched at the end of 2024.
