Another big question we had about Samsung’s new foldables ahead of the July event was whether or not the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 would only use Snapdragon chips. And today there seems to be an answer.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 will use Snapdragon processors globally

Today, from The Elec in Korea they already report that Both the Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 will exclusively use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset globally. This would mean that there would be no variants with Exynos processors this year anywhere in the world.

Let us remember that this year only the Galaxy S24 Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor officially worldwide. Its younger brothers have versions with Exynos processors in almost all markets outside the United States and its native Korea.

The report suggests that Samsung’s decision to stick with Snapdragon processors for its foldable devices is due to a strategic move and not for performance reasons. It is indicated that Samsung’s choice is due to a desire to strengthen its relationship with Qualcomm and, at the same time, prioritize cost control measures.

The company seems to believe that expanding processor options for foldable devices will only become a viable strategy once these devices reach sales volume comparable to that of the mainstream Galaxy S series.

In this way, fans of the versions with Qualcomm processors of the brand would have great news with a view to the next Galaxy Unpacked in July. There is just over a month left for said event, and little by little several of the rumors involving the two most famous and successful folding products on the market today have come to light.
