Google Photos is preparing to launch a new editing tool called “Cinematic Moment,” designed to automatically enhance your videos with slow-motion effects. This feature follows the existing “Cinematic Photo” feature, which transforms static images into short clips with a parallax effect, using depth data.

Google Photos is known as one of the best gallery apps on Android, not only for its pre-installation on most devices on that system, but also for its powerful editing tools. These tools include Portrait Blur, General Blur, and Magic Eraser, which allow you to quickly enhance photos of memorable events, making them more impactful. In this context, the new “Cinematic Moment” function is designed to improve video editing.

According to Google researcher and application leaker AssembleDebug, the code for version 6.84.0.634885033 of Google Photos reveals the inclusion of this new feature. “Cinematic Moment” will automatically apply a slow motion effect to certain segments of the video, similar to how “Cinematic Photos” adds the parallax effect without user intervention. There will be no option to manually disable this effect, and it has not yet been announced when it will be available in the stable version of the app.

This feature promises to make it easy to create slow motion videos without needing to record long segments and manually edit them later. Like other Google Photos tools, “Cinematic Moment” seeks to enrich and simplify the experience of reliving memories through automatically enhanced videos.
