A last minute leak ruined the surprise of Firaxis Gamesbut that doesn’t make it any less exciting to finally see the first trailer for Sid Meier’s Civilization 7the new game turn-based strategy of this venerated team that has been in demand for eight years. But at least we already know that the new Civi will go on sale on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and the veteran Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on a date yet to be determined in 2025.
The video is the traditional presentation cinematic that shows the history of civilizations from its origin to reaching its zenith with the space race, and the takeoff of the first rockets heading to other worlds. With a very artisanal style, with small figures made of lead, stone or wood, Firaxis shows illustrious figures from history while time moves forward until the launch of a space rocket.

The first gameplay of Civilization 7, in August
In the absence of seeing images of the game and learning more about the main novelties of this turn-based strategy game, Firaxis has confirmed that next August, expectedly during Gamescom 2024, we will have the opportunity to see the first gameplay video of Civi 7 .
The founder of the studio himself, the legendary Sid Meier, whom 3DJuegos awarded the first Legacy Award of the magazine for his career, he did not want to miss the opportunity to participate in this moment by appearing in a video in which he claims to feel “incredibly excited” that fans can finally see his new strategy title.
“With more than 70 million copies sold and over a billion hours played, the Civilization franchise is a gem for 2K,” explained 2K Games president David Ismailer. “What the team is looking to achieve with Civilization VII is simply amazing, and we are confident that Firaxis Games has another hit on its hands with Civilization VII.”
