The Redmond company is aware that Windows 11 has not yet aroused the interest of the majority of its users. It is true that it is possible to have the functionalities of Windows 11 in Windows 10 and that, if you use the previous version of the operating system, it is advisable to configure some Windows 10 settings so that your PC continues to work well. However, Microsoft want to continue exploring new features in Windows 10.

The long life of Windows 10 and its next update

Recently, Microsoft has published a statement on the Windows Insider Blog in which it shows its conviction that Windows 10 still has a lot to offer, even though it has already announced that in October 2025 give to end to support of this operating system.

However, given that many people still use Windows 10 on their computers, the company founded by Bill Gates wants to ‘bring new features and more improvements to Windows 10′. To do this, and before launching the 22H2 update for all users, has communicated the opening of the Beta Channel for users of Microsoft’s open testing program, called Windows Insiders, who have not yet made the jump to Windows 11.

So, if you are a Windows Insiders program user under Windows 10 and want to try the new features that will eventually arrive in this year’s big update, you can sign up for the Beta Channel. The procedure is simple: go to Settings, Update & security, and then select Windows Insider Program. Once inside, you will have to select the Beta Channel option, Beta Channel in English.

There are some differences between Insiders, which is convenient to know. If you happen to own a Windows 10 computerbut with the requirementsMinimum requirements to install Windows 11– It will not automatically update to Windows 11, if you switch to the Canary or Dev channels the computer will be updated to the version of Windows 11 from those channels, although you will be able to return to Windows 10 through a limited time window. If time passes, you will have to install Windows 10 again.

On the other hand, for the Insiders whose teams do not meet the minimum requirements to install Windows 11: the options to switch to the Canary or Dev channels will not appear, while the end of support for Windows 10 will continue to be October 14, despite being in the Beta Channel. For now It is unknown what these new developments will be. that will be tested in the beta versions of Windows 10, but surely the 22H2 update will be much more interesting than many thought.
