MediaTek chips with Arm will arrive in 2025
As reported by Reuters, MediaTek is developing its own Arm-based PC chip and plans to launch it in late 2025. Microsoft’s exclusivity deal with Qualcomm is also said to end before then, allowing Microsoft to finally collaborate with other chip manufacturers.
To speed up development, MediaTek would build on Arm’s existing designs. And this would not be the only surprise, and that is that MediaTek is not the only chip manufacturer that wants to take over the Windows ecosystem on Arm. According to previous reports, Nvidia and AMD also have Arm chips in the pipeline and expect to debut in 2025.
