HMD revives the legendary Nokia Lumia 1020, this time with Android and modern features

HMD Global announces the rebirth of one of the most iconic Nokia Lumia phones, the 1020, combining nostalgia with innovation. The new SkyLine HMD promises modern features within an iconic design, marking the return of one of Nokia’s most beloved series.

The spirit of the Nokia Lumia 1020 lives on in the new HMD Skyline

The HMD SkyLine is positioned in the mid-range market. Equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, it offers 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Its triple camera system stands out, with a 108MP main sensor, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP depth or macro sensor. In addition, it includes a 32MP front camera and a 4900 mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.

True to the “Fabula” style of the Lumia era, the design of the SkyLine evokes a strong nostalgic feeling with options in pink, blue, green and yellow. The SkyLine’s FHD+ OLED screen, with a 120 Hz refresh rate, promises a sharp and fluid display, ideal for multimedia and games.

This model is compatible with Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC, and has a double speaker that integrates OZO and PureView audio technology, ensuring a high-quality listening experience.

Operating under the latest Android 14 system, SkyLine offers a familiar yet improved interface. It will be available on the market for a price ranging between 522 and 539 euros, positioning it as an attractive option for fans and new users.

Since its launch in 2011, the Nokia Lumia series was known for its innovative design and high-quality cameras. Although the series was acquired by Microsoft in 2013, and later discontinued, it left a lasting legacy that HMD seeks to revitalize with the launch of SkyLine.

The return of the Lumia series with the SkyLine model could revitalize interest in the Nokia brand and its iconic products.

Do you think the combination of nostalgia and modern technology will be enough to reconnect with old fans and attract new users?
