Logitech has introduced the MeetUp 2an AI-powered USB conference camera designed for PC-based setups and personal devices in small meeting rooms. This next-generation camera is the modern evolution of the iconic Logitech MeetUp, the best-selling conference camera in the company’s history, with more than one million units sold.

“Instantly recognizable, MeetUp took video from the boardroom to the meeting room, making video collaboration accessible and affordable for everyone,” it states Alistair Johnston Director of Collaboration at Futuresource Consulting. «Now, MeetUp 2 is set to revolutionize the market once again, as demand for meeting room technology grows thanks to companies adopting hybrid work models.

With the increase in meeting rooms, the need is growing for video conferencing technology that adapts to various scenarios, including those who prefer a PC-based deployment or using their own laptop in a BYOD setup. The company has been using AI-enhanced features in conference room devices for years to create human-centered experiences and increase engagement among meeting partners (without the need for manual control).

«Logitech MeetUp 2 harnesses the power of AI with RightSight 2 to create dynamic views that integrate remote users into the virtual meeting, and RightSound 2 for advanced voice equalization and noise removal»said Henry Levak, vice president of product at Logitech B2B. «On the backend, IT teams can monitor devices remotely and send software updates to make MeetUp 2 increasingly smarter. Additionally, we have built this state-of-the-art conference camera using high-quality recycled plastics.”.

Smart meeting experiences

RightSight 2’s AI-powered video features create equitable experiences for remote participants, using artificial intelligence to automatically focus and frame those in the room, whether focusing on the active speaker, the group of participants, or each participant individual. Additionally, for advanced audio clarity, RightSound 2 employs AI-based algorithms that balance vocals and filter out unwanted noise, as well as reducing reverberation in echoey rooms.

MeetUp 2 is compatible with the most popular video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet, allowing users to enjoy features like Zoom Rooms Smart Gallery, which creates individual feeds of participants in the room, and Microsoft Intelliframe, which automatically places participants into frames so everyone is equally visible.

Designed to be sustainable

Buyers of computer equipment are increasingly aware of the need to purchase technology with less environmental impact. MeetUp 2 was developed using the principles of Design for Sustainability (DfS), a framework that guides product technicians towards design solutions more circular and with less environmental impact.

“We are helping our business customers better manage their carbon footprint,” said Prakash Arunundrum, chief operating officer at Logitech. «“MeetUp 2, our latest product in our range of video conferencing products, demonstrates our strong commitment to reducing our environmental impact.”

MeetUp 2 Replace virgin plastic parts with post-consumer recycled plastic parts, thus reducing its carbon footprint and giving a second life to plastic from obsolete electronic devices. MeetUp 2’s plastic parts contain 62% recycled plastic, the highest percentage compared to similar products on the market today. By opting for recycled plastic instead of virgin plastic, MeetUp 2’s design avoids the emission of 15.5 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per 10,000 units.

To encourage other brands to adopt Designs for Sustainability (DfS), Logitech is openly sharing its knowledge on how to integrate recycled plastic into manufacturing processes. Additionally, MeetUp 2 is also packaged in paper sourced from forests with FSC certification and other controlled sources.

Better BYOD experience

Designed for up to six people in a small room, MeetUp 2 offers the flexibility to be deployed via USB with a computing device in the room or in Bring Your Own Device by connecting it to a laptop.

In BYOD setups, users simply connect their laptop or mobile device to MeetUp 2 using the Logitech Active USB cable to start video conferencing from the platform of their choice. Meanwhile, IT administrators can monitor room status, deploy updates, and adjust settings over Ethernet or WiFi using Logitech Sync. Additionally, when MeetUp 2 is not in a meeting, the room display can be used for digital signage, displaying personalized content such as company logos or instructions for using the space using Logitech Sync and AppSpace.
