Sharing files between PC and Android is now a little simpler and more intuitive thanks to the new update from Microsoft. And the company has announced that it is deploying an update to its Windows 11 beta channel.

The simplest file sharing between PC and Android

In this way, members who are part of the program Insiders You’ll see a new “My Phone” search icon in Windows Share when you try to share content. By clicking this icon they will be able to quickly send their content to their Android phone without complications. To be able to access this function you must have version 22635.3785 of Windows 11 installed.

As Microsoft points out on its blog, you will only see this icon if your phone and PC are paired. To do this, you will have to use the Link to Windows application on Android and Phone Link on your PC. Once this is done, the icon should appear in the quick search feature in Windows 11.

The function, however, is only available for beta testers for now, but its deployment in the beta channel is a positive sign that it could be generally available fairly soon. The update also adds other features, such as jump lists for apps pinned to the Start menu and greater control over images presented by Windows Spotlight.
