The Google Chrome Android application has released a new feature that allows you to read pages aloud. Furthermore, this function is not limited to reading the website, but it allows you change the voice you do, as well as your speed, among other possibilities. It is now available thanks to the latest update, so at any time you can ask the browser to read a website. Below we will explain step by step how, although we already told you that it is a very simple and intuitive process, which falls right in among the best tricks for Chrome.
How to make Chrome read a web page
First of all, we advise you to check if you have the latest version of the update. To do this you can simply click this link to see if there is an update available in the Play Store. Chrome can read pages from version 125.0.64422.165.
Clarified the importance of the update, enter Chrome. Access the page you want it to read and Press the three dots in the upper right corner. A vertical menu will open with numerous options, one of them being Listen to this pagethis is the one you should press.

Immediately the speech will begin. At the same time, a window will open at the bottom of the screen. small menu with pause and play icon (to pause or start playback) and, next to it, the name of the page you are on. If you touch it, it will expand.
Once expanded, you will have various possibilities:
- Delay or advance the speech by 10 seconds
- Slow down or speed up the speed of speech

Added to this is the option of change voice and text highlight. To access both, Click on the three dots in the lower right corner of the screen, within that menu that has been expanded. After touching it, the options will be displayed:
- Voice: Touch to change voiceover voices. At the moment there are four available only for Spanish (in other languages the number varies).
- Highlight text and auto scroll: This is a box that is activated by default. It implies that the website highlights the word it uses as it progresses, so that we don’t get lost. If we deactivate it, the fastest browser will no longer highlight the word that the phrase refers to.
