iOS 18 has been in beta for over a week now, and the beauty of the builds in development is that They allow you to discover small details that Apple has not mentioned anywhere else. One of them is that the iPhone keyboard is now officially bilingual and works much better than before.

Currently, you can write in two languages at the same time if you have them added in the settings, but now, There is the possibility of adding two languages together and the keyboard becomes bilingualallowing you to use it in both languages simultaneously without having to change them.

How to set up the bilingual keyboard in iOS 18

Configuring the new iOS 18 bilingual keyboard is very simple. You can only add two languages, but it is equally useful. To do this, you will have to follow the following steps that we show you below:

  1. We open the app Settings on an iPhone with iOS 18.
  2. We enter the section General.
  3. We play in Keyboard.
  4. We click on Keyboards.
  5. If you have two languages added, delete one of them.
  6. Add a new language; An option will appear to merge them.

Ready. You now have two languages acting as one. You will notice this because on the space bar The first two letters of the languages you have chosen will appear and in the settings, both will appear as if they were the same, where a notice will be shown that you are using a multilingual keyboard.

Now you just have to try writing simultaneously in both languages; The keyboard will suggest and correct in the language it detects you are typing. This way, you won’t have to change languages on the globe for it to work optimally.

The difference with what we have now is that It has improved a lot and it is official. In current stable versions it works, but not as well, and the suggestions are not as good as they are now. These small details improve the experience and are discovered by testing the betas. If you are interested in knowing how the beta works, I will tell you about it in this review after a week of use.
