Huawei has officially presented the mobile operating system with which it eliminates Android applications from its ecosystem, which will have its own native intelligent system with which to promote editing tools, security and interoperability between different screens.

HarmonyOS Next is the new iteration of Huawei’s operating system that will remove support for installing Android applications on its devices. The technology company anticipated its arrival in August of last year, and even developers have already been able to participate in its beta, and now it has officially presented it within the framework of its annual developers event.

This ‘software’ is presented as a “full-stage intelligent operating system.” To do this, it introduces its own native intelligent system, which the company has named ‘Harmony Intelligent’, which interacts with the user through an assistant that accompanies them in different applications.

It also includes image editing tools, such as an eraser that removes unwanted elements and generates a background to unify the photo, and another that enlarges it and introduces generated elements for a realistic finish.

It also enhances security from the device itself, with anti-malware protection and for digital purchases. Also to limit applications’ access to sensitive information, such as contacts, files, location, clipboard, camera and gallery.

Likewise, HarmonyOS Next promotes interoperability between different screens (mobile, tablet, laptop) with applications that work locally and in the cloud.

The company claims that this operating system offers a faster connection between devices, as well as up to 30 percent higher performance with up to 20 percent lower energy consumption.
