Manzana has recently released a new version of the firmware for several of its deviceswhich include AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 1st generation, AirPods Max, AirPods 1st and 2nd generation, Beats Fit Pro and PowerBeats Pro. This is an important update as it fixes some issues.

Second-generation AirPods Pro (Lightning and USB-C), PowerBeats Pro, and Beats Fit Pro models now They have firmware version 6F8instead of the 6F7, while the other models have updated to the Firmware version 6A326 instead of 6A321.

Apple has communicated that this firmware fixes a security flaw which could have allowed an attacker, within Bluetooth range, to spoof the details of a device to which they had previously connected their headphones, thus facilitating unauthorized access to them.

How to update AirPods firmware

There is no official way to update AirPods firmwaresince it is an automatic process and sometimes takes time, so what we will do is force AirPods firmware update, so, although we can speed up the process, it may not be successful in the first instance. To carry it out, you must follow the following steps:

  1. We put on the AirPods and play some content, such as music on Apple Music or Spotify.
  2. We take off the AirPods and put them inside their case.
  3. We connect the AirPods case to a charger with the iPhone nearby.
  4. We wait a few minutes and verify that the AirPods update has been completed.

Following these steps, the AirPods firmware will have been successfully updated, but to ensure that this is the case, we can do it as follows:

  1. We connect the AirPods to our iPhone.
  2. We open the Settings application.
  3. We play in General.
  4. We enter Information.
  5. We select AirPods.
  6. We see if the version matches the new one.
