We are very curious about Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the fourth installment of the Bioware role-playing saga, which breaks with the artistic direction seen in previous games. In its first trailers and gameplays, Bioware has shown that a new stage is beginning for Dragon Age.
With the salvation of Thedas in our hands, Rook (the protagonist) and up to seven companions They will embark on an epic journey to thwart the evil plans of Solas, the Elven King.
A former producer of the series says that the combat system, much more direct and in real time, is the most fun of all the Dragon Age games. However, fans They are disappointed by the cartoon visual styleor at least that’s what it seems from the trailers.

As soon as you begin your journey in The Veilguard, you will be asked to customize Rook, the protagonist. You will need to choose the racefrom among four possible: Human, Qunari, Elf and Dwarf. Each one has its exclusive characteristics.
The editor will also ask you for the pronoun you want to choose, body type, and even different body positions (with four different types of lighting).
An interesting detail is that Bioware has corrected the problems that existed in the Dragon Age Inquisition editor. We can say goodbye to color filters, although in The Veilguard purple takes special prominence (but it will not have a negative influence, as happened in Inquisition).
There are up to 40 skin toneswith numerous variations for the hairstyle, eyes, nose, ears, cheekbones, jaws. Heck, we can even edit character’s underwear or breast size.
Apparently Dragon Age: The Veilguard includes nudity, and the game’s director claims that it is still an adult RPG. We can also apply up to 30 types of tattoos and makeup.
The animations and treatment of the bodies are based on the Frostbite Engine Strand systemto ensure the greatest realism when moving. In the editor we can also choose between four different voice tones.
As a final part of the process, players will have to choose one of the three starting classes (warrior, mage or rogue)similar to what we saw in Baldur’s Gate 3. You will also have to select one of the six factions, in order to create a background for each character.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard has not received much support in its first trailers, but aspects such as combat and the character editor look very good. It will launch sometime in 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
