From iOS 16there is an option that Blur your wallpaper on the home screenallowing you to hide stripes and avoid interference with the names of the applications. By the way, these names can be hidden with the option that makes the icons and widgets larger.

In iOS 18this functionality is extended with the ability to darken wallpaper. This new option allows you to keep the same background, but in a version more adapted to the dark mode and the color of the applications if they are also in that mode. To enjoy this feature, follow these steps:

1. Press and hold anywhere on the screen to enter editing mode.
2. Tap on “Edit” at the top left.
3. Choose “Personalize“.
4. In the menu that will appear, tap on the sun icon.

Half of the icon will be filled and the wallpaper will become darker. For now, There is no option to regulate the level of darkness; There is only one level available.

Let us remember that iOS 18 is currently in development and only those with a developer account can install it. Apple will release the iOS 18 public beta in July so anyone who wants to test it and help find bugs can do so. The official version will be released in Septemberjust before the launch of the new iPhone 16 series.
