Rubius finishes Shadow of the Erdtree, the Elden Ring DLC, giving away more than 21,000 euros to his followers

Since June 21, most content creators can’t stop playing Shadow of the Erdtree, the expansion for Elden Ringwhich is even harder than FromSoftware’s original soulslike.

For example, one streamer was able to beat the first two bosses using a device that harnesses the power of her mind (sort of).

ElRubiuswhose real name is Ruben Doblas Gundersenhas become the main animator of the launch, since he has been broadcasting his adventures in the Shadowlands of Elden Ring for a week.

A day before the launch, the streamer promised that he would give away 100 euros (or 10 subscriptions to your channel) for every time he died in Shadow of the Erdtree.

The initiative has been a resounding success. Over the course of a week, Rubius has gained more than 7,000 followers on his Twitch channel, and we can already say that he has completed the DLC.

The question is: How much money has been spent on Shadow of the Erdtree? Considering that he gave away 100 euros for every time he died, we can now do the math…

Rubius does not rule out repeating

From June 21 to 26, which is how long it took Rubius to stream the Elden Ring DLC, the Spanish-Norwegian streamer died a total of 312 times.

Each time Rubius died, a virtual roulette wheel determined whether the streamer should give away 100 euros (randomly) or 10 subscriptions. Even a third option exempted him from doing anything.

The streamer acknowledges that has lost a total of 21,100 euros playing Shadow of the Erdree. In other words, Rubius has given away that amount of money to his followers.

The money goes to people who need it more than me.”, says Rubius, and even states that he would like to repeat it, since the initiative has been a resounding success on Twitch.

Doing the math, Rubius should have given away a whopping 31,200 eurosbut only one of the three roulette options forced the streamer to pay 100 euros to his followers.

Did you participate in Rubius’ initiative in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree? Without a doubt, it has been one of the most interesting events of the week, which has made the most of a DLC that has sold more than five million copies in its debut.
