A stunning image was taken by the Mars Odyssey orbiter in Mars: a sequence that was taken on Mount Olympus, the largest volcano in the Solar system.
This unprecedented image covers a good part of the horizon in orbit of the red planet.
Taken on March 11, the image captures Mount Olympus in all its splendor. With a base that extends over 600 kilometers, the shield volcano rises to a height of 27 kilometers.
