WhatsApp has launched a new tool called ‘Events’, designed to simplify the coordination of meetings and activities within groups. This innovation allows users to create and manage events with ease, promising to improve the communication experience on the platform.
The newly released ‘Events’ feature allows WhatsApp users to organize group meetings with a simple and effective interface. Available only in the group version, this tool is accessed through the option to attach files. Users can define the name of the event, a detailed description, select the start date and set a specific location, thus facilitating collective planning.
One notable aspect is the integration of direct calls throughout the event. Organizers can activate a WhatsApp call link, choosing between voice or video, so guests can join with a single click. This direct link ensures a smooth transition between event organization and effective participation.
Once the event is created, a message is sent to group members with all the details. By selecting the event, users can confirm their attendance, add it to their personal calendar, and if necessary, edit the event details via WhatsApp Web or the desktop version. This process does not require group admin rights, allowing any member to take the initiative.
With this new feature, WhatsApp seeks to offer a practical solution for managing group events, an area that until now required external solutions or more laborious coordination.
