The separation between Hideo Kojima and Konami It was one of those moments that was difficult to assimilate at the time, and the Japanese creative and the legendary Japanese company were together for almost three decades. A relationship that began in 1986 and ended in 2015, but despite a decade having passed since his departure, there are many who dream that at some point they will work together again, even people within Konami. That is the case of Noriaki Okamura, producer at the Japanese company and in charge of the next Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterwho during a talk held by Konami answered a question in reference to Kojima himself.

Noriaki Okamura was asked during the press conference about the possible involvement of the original Metal Gear development team in the future, and he replied that “people have moved on to other things and other commitments, and that’s our current reality.” He also stated that “I’m not one to answer for anyone outside the company, or to guess how they would feel about this, but speaking for myself, personally, I would love nothing more than to work with Mr. Kojima and the rest of the team again. If that could happen, it would be a dream.”

Konami and Hideo Kojima, a dream comeback

Okamura during the conference also highlighted that “Kojima and all the original development staff are, of course, credited for their original roles. They were already included in Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 and will appear in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.” A necessary detail that Konami could not fail to include, is that Metal Gear as a saga will be eternally related to the figure of Hideo Kojima.
