The launch of a new Steam-licensed controller made by Hori has been announced, a Japanese company specialized in video game peripherals and accessories. This new product, known as Wireless Horipad for Steam, is designed specifically to interact with games exclusive to the Steam platform on computers.
The Wireless Horipad for Steam will be available on the market starting October 31, 2024, with an approximate price of 7,980 yen, equivalent to about $50, and will initially be available only in Japan. This controller comes in four colors: black, yellow, white, and purple.
It features touch sensors located on the levers, designed to activate the gyroscopic controls. In addition, It supports both Bluetooth wireless connections and USB-C cable.and offers extensive customization options through the software provided by Hori.
Gyroscopic controls are sensors that detect the movement and orientation of the controller by measuring changes in angular orientation. This technology allows games and applications to interpret the controller’s physical movements as in-game commands.
For example, when you tilt or rotate the controller, gyroscopic controls capture these movements and transform them into actions performed within the game.
