Besides, Honor introduced the anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield and the Honor Shield Glasswhich can be up to 10 times stronger than conventional screen glass.
Innovation and strategy
In a talk with Latin American media, Dr. Ray Guo, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Honor, shared the brand’s plans to continue being pioneers in innovation, development and democratization of key technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) in smartphones, personal computers and wearables.
Guo emphasizes differentiating between traditional Artificial Intelligence, which has been evolving to improve interaction between humans vs. electronics devices; and Generative Artificial Intelligence, which draws attention due to the advances of tools such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT. “…Already during my PhD, I was exploring algorithms related to artificial intelligence. At the beginning of this century, AI did not attract as much interest as it does now,” Guo explained about the moment when Honor decided to focus on leading the way in AI.

Honor was a pioneer in recognizing the potential of Generative AI and the development team implemented the first Neural Processing Units (NPUs) in its phones, with the first generation of the Honor Magic series. “We were the first to launch a phone with an NPU as the core of computational power,” said Honor’s CMO.
In the talk, Guo highlighted the importance of Latin America as a crucial market for the Company. He highlighted how Honor’s AI facilitates technological integration, enabling collaboration between devices to recognize user intentions globally and offer personalized recommendations. Besides, emphasized Honor’s belief in combining personalization, intuition and privacy protection to unlock the full potential of AI.

4-layer artificial intelligence, a pioneer in the industry
Guo also talked about the four-layer AI architecture underpinning Honor’s MagicOS 8.0: At the base layer, AI across devices and operating systems forms the basis of an open ecosystem. On this basis, the platform-level AI layer enables a customized operating system, enabling interaction between human and device based on intent and allocation
custom resources.
In the third layer, Application-level AI is poised to introduce innovative, generative AI applications that will revolutionize user experiences.. Finally, at the top, the interface layer to cloud AI services prioritizes privacy protection, creating a comprehensive, future-oriented AI experience.
