The Jazz Day celebration in Alicante comes to an end after two weeks of activities to celebrate the power of this music as a meeting point of cultures and after a massive concert held this Sunday at the Teatro Principal of Alicante. The festival started last April 10, concludes this Tuesday, the 30th (International Jazz Day), with a collective concert in the street that will bring together a dozen bands and will include a parade and a concert big band

The bottom of the Rambla Méndez Núñez at its confluence with the Esplanade will be the meeting place for the collective concert, in which about fifty musicianswhich will develop from 6 p.m. and it will last until 11 p.m.

The big street party will feature various musical groups that will show the different currents associated with jazz, from blues to funk, in a festive, participatory atmosphere open to the public. On this occasion bands such as Goya & Los Blues Notas, Jazztá, So Funk Be Funk, Agustic Band, Cocktail Inc. Mestís, Carla Vallet, DJ Lucky Luke and Fusta i Jazz Dixieland Marching Band.

This last band will also perform a march through the streets from the Plaza deBalmis – from where it will leave at 19 hours– until you reach the Culture Classroom of the Mediterranean Foundation of Alicante (Dr. Gadea 1) shortly before it starts there, at 8 p.m.the concert of one of the best jazz bands in the country, the Sedajazz Big Bandand then return to the bottom of the Rambla and finish the Jazz Day in the street.

The Sedajazz Big Band, based in Valencia, will offer a tour through the history of jazz orchestras from the beginning in the 20s of the last century to the present, reproducing the sound of the most important and representative composers, arrangers and musicians of every era and style.

Closing of the exhibition
