Following an RBI single by Landon Sullivan, the Brandon-Evansville baseball team tied their game against the Pelican Rapids at one in the top of the sixth inning.

But with four unearned runs, the Vikings took a 5-1 lead at the bottom of the sixth inning and went on to win on Monday.

“Both teams left a lot of runners in scoring position,” BE head coach Brian Perleberg said. “We missed our opportunities in the third, fourth, and sixth, and they capitalized on theirs and for the most part, that was the difference in the game. Given the cold and wet conditions, I thought both teams pitched well, and the defenses kept the game close.”

Riley Perleberg scored the Chargers’ only run in the game and also had a double. Kaden Englund, Seth Thoennes, and Landon Sullivan all went 1-for-3 at the plate.

Sullivan threw six strikeouts in the game, while Carter White threw four.

BE hosts Rothsay in a doubleheader on Thursday starting at 4 pm
