One of the most impressive images ever captured by the NASA space telescope. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Hubble, has been the image they obtained of the nebula named as the “Hourglass Nebula”, which seems to be a cosmic eye.

NASA once again revealed one of the most impressive images that Hubble has taken in its 34 years of existence, the “Hourglass Nebula”, which seems like an even psychedelic image.

The space agency explains that this image is made up of three separate photographs taken, the red color is ionized nitrogen light, while the green color is hydrogen and the blue color is doubly ionized oxygen.

What is the Hourglass Nebula?

This image was captured by Hubble in 1996 and what appears to be a surreal photograph is the bright remains of a dying star similar to the Sun.

The space agency describes that in the image you can see bright orange rings surrounding a central point that resembles a green eye, and in the background the contrast of black space.

It is worth mentioning that, according to NASA, this type of photography has helped astronomers learn more details about the ejection of matter from a star when it dies.

What is a nebula?

NASA defines the nebulae like giant clouds of dust and gas in space, explains that their origin comes from the gas and dust expelled by the explosion of a dying star, that is, they occur after a supernova.

However, it is not the only origin, since other nebulae are regions where new stars begin to form. For this reason, there are nebulae that are called “star nurseries.”
