Police investigating the deaths of two people at a house in Leeds have issued an image of the

female victim.

The Homicide and Major Inquiry Team is continuing to investigate a serious incident on Fearnville Close, Leeds on 25 April and can now name the female victim as Karen O’Leary (63).

The man who died in the offense was Dennis O’Leary (61).

Detectives can confirm that Karen is being treated as a victim of murder and that police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the matter.

Senior Investigating Officer DCI Stacey Atkinson, of West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Inquiry Team, said: “We are continuing to conduct a number of inquiries into this very serious incident and are now in a position to issue a picture of Karen.

“We are treating her death as a domestic related murder and are not looking for anyone else in connection with either her or Mr O’Leary’s death.

“Specially trained officers continue to support family members at what is clearly a dreadful time for them.”

Police are investigating after two people were found deceased at a property in Leeds yesterday afternoon (Thursday, 25 April).

Officers were called to a property on Fearnville Close, Leeds, at 1:48pm to a report of a concern for safety. After entering the property, the bodies of two adults were found. They have yet to be formally identified but are understood to be a 63-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man.

The woman’s death is being treated as suspicious. No one else is being sought in connection with the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson, of West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Inquiry Team, said: “Sadly two people have lost their lives in what appears to be a domestic-related incident.

“We have extensive inquiries ongoing to understand the circumstances of what has been taken place.

“We have specially-trained officers supporting family members as they try to come to terms with this extremely tragic incident. I would ask for their sakes for people to please avoid posting any potentially upsetting speculation about what has happened and those involved on social media.

“If anyone does have any information that could assist our ongoing investigation, I would ask them to please pass it on to my team.”
