Appeal for information after fire destroys trucks and trailers in North Albury

NSW Police are appealing for information following a suspicious fire in the state’s south earlier this morning.

At 1.40am today (May 2), emergency services responded to reports of a fire at a transport yard on Batten Street, North Albury.

Three trucks and 12 firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW battled the blaze for several hours, however the fire destroyed six prime movers, two B-double trailers and a single set trailer.

There were no reports of injuries, as a result of the fire, which also spread to nearby grass before being extinguished.

A crime scene was established by officers attached to the Murray River Police District.

An investigation into the circumstances of the fire is underway, which is believed to be suspicious.
