Dylan Matthew Franco, the store clerk Dollar Tree in Bakersfield, California, is accused of having murdered a person who entered the store to rob the store. Dylan Matthew Franco, a 22-year-old Dollar Tree employee, who faces a murder charge after a fatal incident that claimed the life of 36-year-old Aarón Delgado, who allegedly entered the store to rob the night of December 21 February 2024.
According to images taken inside the Dollar Tree on Columbus Street, Aarón Delgado took items the night of February 21 and then ran out the back door. Dylan Matthew Franco ran out the front door after an alarm sounded, documents state.
Video obtained from another camera captured Franco confronting Delgado on the south side of the building, where “an apparent fight ensueda,” say the documents, which KGET.com mentions.
Footage shows, at 7:30PM, Franco fleeing, while Delgado briefly chases him before walking into a nearby lot and collapsing.
Authorities received an emergency call about an individual fallen in the parking lot near the Dollar Tree store on Haley Street, near Columbus St. When they arrived at the scene, Delgado had a stab wound on the left side of his body, as well as a cut on his hand. At 8:30 pm he died at the scene. Unopened food stained with blood was found next to him, as well as a trail of blood drops leading to his body.
Arrest and charges
According to the Sherrif’s office, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Franco on the charge of murder. He was arrested the night of February 22 in the 2600 block of Oswell Street. He faces a charge of first-degree murder. He does not have the right to bail.
