In addition to being a celebration, studios often make important announcements and revelations about the continuation of this saga.

On this day you can enjoy sales stands, special guests, samples, talks, debates, thematic coffee, screenings and much more.

Thus, the motto is “May the force be with you.”

On this date, new products are usually announced and Lucasfilm commemorates the saga together with the fan community. It is a time of much movement in a galaxy far away.

Lucasfilm has left behind years of silence, in which there was hardly any audiovisual material from ‘Star Wars’.

Star Wars Day is a day of celebration in tribute to the franchise, it was created by fans of the film series and subsequently spread through social networks.

Star Wars Day was born as a result of a publication in the British newspaper London Evening News on May 4, 1979. It was a note in which members of the Conservative Party of the United Kingdom congratulated Margaret Thatcher for her newly acquired position as the country’s prime minister. «May the 4th Be With You, Maggie. Congratulations,” said the writing that gave rise to a play on words between “May the Force be with you.”

In 2011, the Toronto Underground Cinema organized a film festival on this holiday, and since then many companies have taken advantage of the occasion to offer Star Wars products.
