Paretta Autosport IndyCar team ready for Indianapolis 500 2021

Beth Paretta, Simona De Silvestro and a co-ed crew comprising about 75% women aim to inspire a new generation of people underrepresented in racing.

It’s fair to say that the pages of your local newspaper aren’t always the best place to turn for inspiration.

There’s enough turmoil in the world to fill any local edition, and those of us in the news media often find ourselves in the middle of crises big and small throughout the course of our reporting.

Be that as it may, our job isn’t simply to peddle discontent. Not when there is still so much good in the world. At IndyStar, we’re here to tell our communities’ triumphs, too.

On May 19, we’re launching a new “Inspiration” page in the Sunday Star to do just that. And we can use your help.

If you have a story about someone who inspires your community, or a random act of kindness to share, we want to hear it. We’ll fill the Inspiration page with these types of uplifting stories and make sure Central Indiana knows how to share them with us.

How to share your inspirational story with IndyStar

If you want to share a story suggestion or news tip, you can email [email protected] with “Inspiration” as the subject line. Our staff will review your tip and get back to you if we need to do more reporting.

If you have a photo or video to share, you can send it to us through our user-generated contact form at bit.ly/indystarugc.

We hope you’ll enjoy this new feature as much as we’ll enjoy sharing your uplifting stories.
