A record-breaking number of volunteers took part in the event last weekend, including hundreds of Inverclyde residents.

Dozens of terrific Tele readers who took part shared their photos and stories after the successful fundraising campaign.

Vital charities such as Ardgowan Hospice, Calum’s Cabin, The Newark Trust, MND Scotland, Medicinema and Mind Mosaic Child and Family Therapies were among the local groups chosen to fundraise for.

Overall, the donation drive has raised £2.5m so far with more than 14,100 people taking part.

Famous faces like Sir Tom Hunter, Judy Murray and STV’s Laura Boyd and Philip Petrie were at the start at Glasgow Green to wave off those taking part in the Mighty Stride, which spanned 22.6 miles to Moss O’Balloch Park at Loch Lomond.

Others took part in a 14-mile walk from Three Queens Square in Clydebank to Balloch, while some walked the three-mile trek from Loch Lomond Shores to the Kiltwalk Village at Moss O’Balloch Park.

Glasgow’s Kiltwalk was the first of 2024 and will be followed by events in Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh later this year.
