West Coast forward Tyler Brockman was involved in a car accident on the weekend in a matter being investigated by the police.

The Eagles confirmed the 21-year-old was involved in a singe-vehicle incident in Geraldton, 420km north of Perth, early on Saturday morning after attending a funeral for a relative on Friday afternoon.

The club said no one was injured in the incident.

“This matter is being investigated by the WA Police and Tyler is fully co-operating,” the Eagles said in a statement.

“Tyler’s personal circumstances are complex, and the club will prioritize his health and wellbeing ahead of any return to playing football.

“The club has informed the AFL regarding this incident, and we await the outcome of the police investigation before making any further comment. The club requests Tyler’s privacy is respected at this time.”

His availability for this weekend is unclear.

Brockman played 26 AFL games for Hawthorn after making his debut in 2021 before moving back to his home state Western Australia at the end of last year to join the Eagles.

The small forward, who was omitted for last week’s loss to Essendon, has gone goalless from six games this season.
